Presentation Abstract
In 2018, Telstra’s Capital Planning & Delivery won PMI’s PMO of the Year. Telstra beat over 300 other global entrants to take out the best PMO in the world. What does it take to win PMO of the year? How is Telstra’s PMO able to continue to re-invent itself and stay relevant in a company that is undertaking a major transformation? In this presentation, we will explain and demonstrate the key components of our PMO, how we work collaboratively across the whole business (vertically and horizontally), how we exercise our accountability for enterprise-wide portfolio planning, prioritisation, governance and assurance, how we build capability across practitioners and sponsors and how we execute some of Telstra’s most major programs. We will also share how we are adjusting the PMO and simplifying processes to accommodate agile ways of working and Telstra’s major transformation towards a post NBN market.
